Statement

In consideration of the foregoing, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns, waive and release any and all right, claims and causes of action I have or may have against the HCA Marathon and its affiliates, their agents, employees, officers, directors, successors and assigns, the organiser, City of Odense and any and all sponsor, their representatives and successors, that may arise as a result of my participation in the race and any pre- and postrace activities.

Invitation and Visa

Citizens from the following countries must have a visa to enter Denmark to participate in the HCA Marathon. * Citizens with diplomatic and service passports are exempt from the visa requirement.
** Holders of a "Hong Kong Special Administrative Region" passport, a "Região Administrativa Especial de Macau" passport or a "British National Overseas" passport are exempt from the visa requirement.
*** Citizens with diplomatic, special, and service passports are exempt from the visa requirement.
**** Citizens with diplomatic passports are exempt from the visa requirement.

Since it takes time to get a visa to Denmark (up to 8 weeks), no request for an invitation to run the race will be taken into consideration if not received at the office – latest 8 weeks prior to the race date.

The best chance to get a successful visa application, is to go through your national federation and have financial guaranties for your travel, food, and accommodation.

 

To get visa to Denmark for participating in the marathon, the procedure is as follows:

  1. The runner's club or national federation must ask in writing for an invitation from HCA Marathon, not later than 8 weeks prior to the race.

 

  1. The request/letter from club or national federation must contain the following information’s about the runner:
    • Full name as stated in passport (format: given name/middle name/family name)
    • Date of birth
    • Passport No.
    • Gender
    • E-mail of club/national federation
    • Copy of national or international license

The request/letter must be with date and signature

  1. Please send letter/request to HCA Marathon by e-mail to: info@hcamarathon.dk
    The request must be enclosed as a PDF file as all other documents.
  2. When HCA Marathon has received the correct filled request, the invitation is sent to the club, and/or national federation and to the Danish authority that will handle the Visa application.

 

Request’s that do not fulfill the above criteria’s will not be taken into consideration.

When the invitation is sent HCA Marathon can hereafter not offer any service towards the visa application.

 

Please read the following very carefully:

HCA Marathon do not support any runners with financial support, transportation, food, or accommodation.

Application for Visa to Denmark must be done by the runner/club or national Federation.

All questions regarding the application must be to the Danish authorities

The Danish authorities have a long processing time. (6-8 weeks)  

HCA Marathon are not informed if a visa application is accepted or denied!

We have no influence on Danish authorities about the approval/denial of a visa application


Rules applicable to exercise organized by HCA Marathon

You participate at your own risk. By signing the registration or accepting on registration online, you declare yourself healthy and agree that the organizer cannot be held responsible for any damages you incur or yourself in connection with the race. The starting number must be worn visibly on the chest. The starting number must not be changed or bent. Violation of this will result in immediate expulsion. The start number may only be transferred to another person via www.sportstiming.dk or by contacting the secretariat. It is not allowed to have cycling companions on the route. Violation of this will result in immediate expulsion. If a participant is prevented from quitting or in case of force majeure, the participant has no claim for repayment of the starting fee.

 

Accept

With my registration I accept that my participation in the race takes place on my own responsibility and that the organizer and Odense Municipality cannot be held responsible for any kind.

I accept with my registration that I am healthy and in physical form for participation in the race.

With my registration, I accept that photos, film recordings, interviews, advertisements and the like. can be used freely.

With my registration I accept that my data is correct.

With my registration, I accept that HCA Marathon must send me mails with information about the race and news about other races. These emails can be canceled at any time.

 

Especially for Marathon and ½ Marathon

HCA Marathon is implemented in accordance with IAAF rules.

The route is measured by DAF-IAAF and approved by A.I.M.S.

Everyone who is correctly registered and completes the course within the time frame receives a medal as well as a diploma with intermediate times, end time and placement.

The car traffic is closed on the route again after the time frame expires.

If a participant is prevented from participating, the start number can be transferred to next year by contacting the secretariat. This can be done until 14 days before the race day.

 

Especially for Marathon

Participants must be at least 18 years of age or 18 years of age in the calendar year of the race.

The classification differs by 5 years, starting with the classes M / K 18-19 years, then M / K 20-24 years, M / K 25-29 years etc. until the classes M / K 70 years and older.

Max. The maturity of the marathon is 6 hours. For the marathon runners, the time limit means that the ½ marathon distance must be passed within 2 hours and 45 minutes. If this time is not observed, the runner is taken out of the race.

Max time is marked by two cyclists at the back of the field, wearing red vests.

Exceptions to the age limit may be granted in special cases. Should you need this, please contact the secretariat.

 

Especially for ½ Marathon

Participants must be at least 15 years of age or 15 years in the calendar year of the race.

The classification differs by 5-year intervals, starting with the classes K / M Under 18 years, K / M 18-19 years, then K / M 20-24 years, K / M 25-29 years etc. until the class K / M 70 years and the elderly.

Exceptions to the age limit may be granted in special cases. Should you need this, please contact the secretariat.

 

Especially for the MiniMarathon

Classification: groups M / K 5 - 9 years, M / K 10 - 13 years and M / K 14 - 17 years

One parent has to run with pr. child in the youngest group if the child does not want to run alone.

 

Especially for students at Marathon and ½ Marathon

Students with a valid student card on the race day can participate in HCA Marathon and ½ Marathon and get a student discount. Students must be able to present a valid student card by picking up the starting number of the sports fair in the days leading up to the race. If this cannot be presented, the student discount must be refunded in the number delivery in order for the start number to be handed out. A registration with a student discount cannot be changed, transferred or transferred to subsequent years. A normal registration cannot subsequently be changed to a registration with a student discount.
